The National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and integrate economic, social and culture interest of Ethnic communities into the mainstream of Canadian society.
For the last twenty-six years the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada and its member’s organization have shown considerable development as well as linguistic and ideological diversity, as educated immigrants from various parts of the world daily arrive to Canada. However, there are challenges and pressing needs that ethnic newspapers and media are facing. Those ethnic newspapers and publications mostly represent the small and medium enterprises that are struggling to survive in their own communities in Canada. They need to market themselves in their own communities, at the same time emerge into the mainstream market and properly present themselves to the Government and Business sectors. They need to enhance and reinforce their ability to promote and market themselves in order to succeed.
Understanding this emerging need from the ethnic newspapers and publishers, NEPMCC would like to assist these publications to be more competitive in order to survive & also to market themselves to advertisers. Our Council has proposed and developed a series of Training Seminars in a two-and-half days Conference to assist the ethnic newspapers and publishers to achieve their goals and promote professional development by improving their abilities and performance in the media industry and consequently benefit the community in general. The goal is to create mutual benefits with initiatives to enhance and strengthen the professional skills of the ethnic press and media in Canada.
