The highlights of this month’s meeting:
· Governor awards ceremony
· The annual “family get together” event
The October meeting was officially started with Clyde McNeil’s welcome remarks. There was no special guest this month, as the organization wanted to discuss internal bushiness. Soon after the members’ approval of the last monthly minutes, the report by the president began.
Report by the President:
Mr. Saras began the report by looking at the overview of the organization’s activity during election time. For the first time in the history of NEPMCC at pre-election time, the members had a chance to sit in a roundtable discussion with the leaders of all political parties. The Organization presented two successful pre-election events: a press conference with Hon. Stephen Harper, the leader of the Conservatives party, on Sept 16 and a roundtable with Stephane Dion, the leader of Liberal party on Oct.08.
The President also offered his appreciation to Ahmad Shah Hotaki for his outstanding contribution at The Word on the Street Festival exhibitions. He called the exhibition “very successful” this year. Mr.Saras continued his report by confirming the date of the award ceremony as October 30th.He said the name of all award recipients have been sent to the office of L. General, and making any changes to the list would be impossible at that point. The last deadline for entering nominations was at the end of July.
The annual get-together event will be held on December 12th  (Friday) at the same place it was held last year. Tickets for the event were available for purchase at the meeting. Due to high demand, there will not be any tickets available for sale at the door on day of the event. Each ticket is $20/ person, which includes dinner. If you are interested in attending, the last chance to purchase tickets will be during the next meeting – Nov 10th.

After the report by President, the meeting was carried on by questions and answers.
Adjournment:
Massod Mashadi moved a motion to adjourn the meeting and Neel seconded it. The motion was carried and the chair officially adjourned the meeting at 8:00 pm. More than 30 members were in attendance at this meeting.
